On the 30th of May, 2003, in a brand new, one of a kind Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter, known to the world as Planetside, for the empire of the Loyalist Terran Republic.. Total Oblivion, the outfit was created.
The original creators of the outfit, Ravn, and Crow have since moved onto newer pastures, but not before handing on the leadership of the outfit to Pr0t0type, who then passed on the outfit to our veteran player, SHS.
Total Oblivion was known as the armoured fist of Werner, Planetside’s European server, which we primarily resided upon. Gaining members day by day, of a similar group of people of, friendly, co-operative and productive nature. Early screenshots of these days can be found on the forums and the screenshots section.
Time moved on and leadership was again passed on to a natural leader, Smoos3, whilst maintaining the armoured presence of Total Oblivion, Smoos3 introduced more tactics, galaxy drops, mass AMS deployment schemes..that sometimes worked, and outfit events!
The Planetside branch has had its share of leaders, and its up’s and downs through tough times of new, modern games which should have taken its place, undoubtedly taking a chunk of its member base, but the outfit was passed on to Ardasnails who, with Rickreaper kept the Planetside branch alive, whilst almost dormant in the wake of games such as World Of Warcraft and Battlefield 2.
Soon after, a new leader, a budding CR5 in the process, RufferrRogers emerged taking Total Oblivion by the teeth and resurrecting it from the spitting embers of doom. With an increase in players and by driving a recruitment spree from the Planetside Reserves movement, the outfit was re-ignited with power, members, and was a key player in the actions that made the Terran Republic the success it is today.
Total Oblivion was and still is proud a member of the Planetside Terran Alliance and the United Inter-Empire Alliance of Werner.
The outfit still holds strong on Werner with a few dedicated players, but all of us in Total Oblivion are still praying for the day that Planetside 2 is made a reality and on that day angry houses will roll and guns will blaze!
