Hey,

I'd avoid Razer products I've had two pairs break on me in the last year... Before that though I had a steel series set that worked a charm... I know Lance got the model up from the one's I had and is still using them and enjoying them.

So I'd recomend you look at Steel Series

I'm not sure what the current more popular ones are, but I can definatley recommend the Sennheiser ones, I bought a PC-160 about 8 years ago and its still going strong, its got good quality sound, noise cancellation, a long cable, I think about 2-3 meteres.

Although it depends on what your looking for and what your price range is? Do they need to be wireless at all? Large ear pieces?

Oh i dont really know what to look for. I dont think it matters too much if they have wires, and budget up to about £60 ish.

Are these any good?

I would try and stick with Steelseries PERSONALLY, the ones that Mashu posted i considered however the do mean you need to wear a lapel mic, big no no for me.

I have http://www.steelseries.com/int/products ... nformation these and i think they're billiant, and if they come in stock well within your budget.

The mic on these is the winner for me as they are a fully movable mic that can be pulled in and out of the headset (you can just about see is slotted in in the picture). This also means that the mic is tough. On the ones you were looking at I would personally be worried about snapping the mic off when i was travelling up to a I series.

They are not the best to use if Drax wants to be listening to high quality music though as the base is not the greatest. Dash has the upgrade and maybe these sound better.

Hope that helps.

Hope I'm not too late to the party sicne it's way past Valentine's but anyway...

No the Steelsound 5H v2 are just as bad at bass becasue they are designed for gaming meaning you can hear peoples voices and SFX better but less bass which would normally make it harder to hear things like voice comms and footseps in CSS.

I like the idea of noise cancelling ones and would like to try soem if anyone has any at next iseries. I find myself having to turn mine up at iseries as there is so much background noise. I would rather not do this if possible so noise cancelling ones with a good quality mic would be of great interest to me if anyone has a recommendation.

I don't have any that i use for pc gaming. but when i'm using my (guitar hero :smt012 ) electric drums i use either a JVC pair or a Sony pair.

Makes a real difference, i can't hear the sound of the annoying pat pat of the drums over the sound of the drum coming through the headphones.

I know it's sad but I've a pair of fatality headphones however I find them to be very good don't remember which version got em ages ago. The sound in them is great and the microphone is very clear, on the rare occasions I do use it(you try having an irish accent and see how quickly you get sick of hearing top of the morning!).
